German state army had its own particular uniform colour, a distinctive ‘field grey’. Issued helmets included the Pickelhaube and Stahlhelm as well as caps. The infantry soldier had a backpack known as the Tornister 95 and weaponry in the form of a bolt action Masuer rifle and the Arum’s MG08 machine gun.
